Our experts contributed their know-how to the Zulu 06 project, the first French barge electrically propelled using hydrogen fuel cell technology. This innovative vessel, with a range of up to 500 km, showcases our expertise in energy conversion and our commitment to the energy transition.

Hydrogen-Diesel-Electric Self-Propelled Barge
Designed for urban logistics operations, Zulu 06 can transport up to 400 tonnes of cargo while significantly reducing emissions through its hybrid hydrogen-electric propulsion system.
From Front-End Engineering to Commissioning
Actemium Marine provided end-to-end support for the integration of a hydrogen power module into an existing diesel-electric barge, including:
- Preliminary feasibility studies and detailed engineering for H₂ system integration on an existing diesel-electric vessel
- Development of the Energy Management System (EMS) and operating modes
- Development of the hydrogen-related Emergency Shutdown System (ESD)
- Development of the H₂ process control and monitoring system, including supply of associated equipment
- Manufacturing of the main switchboards
- Onboard integration and installation
- Testing, commissioning and operational validation
